Snow Characteristics Comments

There is very little snow left on most south facing slopes at any elevation. Everything stayed pretty well frozen this morning. Things started to soften up right around noon, and when they did they went quickly. By the time we started back to the trail head we were pretty much riding through slush. Even with temps on the rise, the snow that still remains on the southern half of the compass didn't seem to be to bothered by it. Maybe if we go a few nights without a refreeze that will change. Surprisingly the riding on the north half of the compass, that is sheltered from the wind, is still quite good.

I tried to find places with similar structure to the area in weber canyon where craig and I saw the slide from a few days back. I didn't find much, and what I did find was not wide spread. I think that is still the exception, not the rule at this point.

This is the view from the Strawberry River TH. and looking up at Current Creek from Roundy Basin
