Snow Characteristics Comments

Seemed like the PC Ridgeline received more snow than what I was seeing in Cardiff Fork yesterday, I guess that's important now that we measures storms in single digit numbers instead of feet. South facing was crusted in the AM and damp by 10:00am also seems like due east went off today as well.

Comments

Went in search of protected high elevation north facing skiing, which the PC Ridgeline has a lot of. Pretty much stuck to N, NE, but did one run later in the afternoon on east which had gotten damp during the day and was starting to crust up. No real sighs of instability noted, only sluffing in the steepest of terrain. Wet activity in the terrain covered was minor and not an issue except maybe a desire to have skin wax. Thinking high NE through NW will still be intact tomorrow, E through W might be toast. Photos sluffing in only the steepest terrain, this is N facing Scotts on a 45 degree slope with a firm bed surface, minor wet activity in NO Name Bowl.
