Forecaster's note: The 8" of new Ed is referring to is the 14" we received Dec 25-26 which has now settled to 8".

The top layer of new snow has settled to ~8" and bonded as a medium shear. The next layers were all mashed together into a soft slab on top of ~4" of sugar at the bottom. Total depth of the snow was 47".
