Weather Comments
It snowed much longer and more than I expected it to today, 5" and still coming down at 4PM. The wind wasn't moving much snow at lower elevations but I would guess, due to the light density of todays new snow, that it did on the ridges. Visibility was poor. Temps stayed cold all day.

wind transport doesn't require much wind with this new snow. As snow totals increase this can become a bigger problem. Access to upper areas is difficult right now.

Comments
Access to the canyon has only opened up this week. With poor visibility today and no reports, in the area, since an early December mountain bike trip. It's hard to know what's going on further up, but. There is the weak, wet, facet base layer, capped with 1" of ice. On top of that sits 16" of 4F. Everything else is Light density fluff.
