Red Flags Comments
I was in Aspen Grove doing a video project today. Afterwards, I skied up toward Timpanogos Divide pass to see if I could see any avalanche activity during the storm on the east facing slopes of Timpanogos. I did not see evidence of any activity with the exception of the big slide on East Chute of Elk Point that was already reported. The storm seemed to blast the upper Cottonwood Canyons much more than the Timpanogos area. It's possible that some of the slidepaths slid early in the storm and then the howling winds filled everything in but I could not see any debris either. I could not see too many of the north facing slopes so there my have been some activity in there. I did not have time or inclination to access any of the starting zones so I won't speculate on the various avalanche problems but I assume they are the same as the SLC mountains.
Comments
I added a couple photos of the area just to show the shallow the snowpack. The second one is the Elk Point avalanche that was reported previously but this is from more of a bird's eye view from the ridge across the way.
