Variable snow surface conditions... We found the best re-crystallized snow conditions on upper elevation east facing slopes, but there were some stashes in sheltered north facing terrain as well. Shallow slopes at upper elevation are plagued by weak sugary facets. and you sink right down to the ground in some rocky areas. But, the snow is still pretty hard and well connected to the ground where it's deeper.
