Went up Millcreek Canyon today to check the distribution of snow before the storm. About 2 inches still left at the Millcreek Gate, 4 at the end of the road and around 6-8 in the shady aspects near 9000ft around by Dog Lake. A significant coating on most north and east facing starting zones viewed from a far (see photo below of Butler Basin and East Raymond). Needless to say the snow was quite weak and thin on all non-solar aspects, not quite enough yet to warrant much off trail travel but enough to make things really interesting with a sudden load of new snow this weekend. Planning to avoid all shady starting zones during and after this next storm.
Solar aspects (SE->W) that still contained snow were getting damp by midday. The north side of the Millcreek Road is essentially snow free.
