Snow Characteristics Comments

Snow profiles very similar to what I saw at Twin Lakes Pass on Monday.

Degraded crust over loose 1-2 mm facets. Surface snow is weakening. Ski penetration to the ground in many places.

West and East aspects without the crust are weak to the ground. I do not think the current snow pack will hold a new load on West through North through East Aspects. Some of the places typically considered safe may not be if we get the forecasted load.

Avalanche Problem #1
Problem #1 Comments

Currently not much of a problem. Will change with new snow.

Comments

Felt it was important to go on a BCC recon mission to look what will be underlaying the forecasted snow.
