About the only show in town. Only about 8-10" of settled snow, augmented in a few spots with man made, so coverage is rather poor. Saw one old sluff (Main Chute of Baldy), 2 white ermines, skimmed across about 25 rocks, and only spent about 45 minutes looking for "stuff" this morning (about average for the first tour of the year).

I'm betting that this will be the base layer of the season's snow pack, at least on the upper elevation northerly facing slopes - and the best scenario would be for it to keep snowing, and soon, to help prevent facet development. Unfortunately, it's looking quite dry for the next week or so.
