Problem #1 Comments

With the high winds the region sustained throughout the weekend I expected to see a fair amount of shallow wind pockets that either naturaled, or would be reactive to the weight of snowmobiles. This was not the case. Even in exposed, upper elevation terrain, there was no sign of instability. We tweaked quite a few test slopes that looked to be wind loaded and were unable to antagonize anything enough to move.

Problem #2 Comments

I don't think this will be a problem quite yet as sky's remained overcast, and temps stayed in the 20's. When the sun does start to warm things up in a few days however, I would imagine this new snow will be prone to some wet slide activity. Especially where so many places will provide such a nice bed surface for it to run on.
