What a nice few days for some longer outings. Seems a number of our UAC staff have taken advantage of good stability, good weather, and easy travel to enjoy some longer outings.

Good supportable corn noted on east, south, west, with soft settled powder on the northerly aspects. A few shallow wind drifts scattered here and there but generally low danger.

Box Elder - a magnificent peak that holds its mystery from the casual drive by on I-15. It takes a bit of work, but worth the effort - there is unbelievable folding of the strata noted on the west ridge of the great northwest cirque, large open bowls to the east, and the classic shotgun chutes off the north ridge proper.

Noted a size 2.5 avalanche - a natural from likely March 11 - similar to the one noted in upper Hogum fork here.

After tagging the summit, we chose to avoid the wind swept bullet proof northwest cirque and skiied the skier's left Shotgun Chute - safe now with the last few storms above the old bed surface/ground from a March 7th close call.
