Snow Characteristics Comments

About 20 inches of new settled, seems like good bridging in that pack. Threw a couple 500 lb cornice drops at the section near the chute before the final steep ascent and got only big holes; a couple ski cuts at that chute yeilded about 6" of surface slough that ran a couple hundred yards and piled two to three feet deep. No cracking, whomping or other signs of instability. Good skiing.

FORECASTER COMMENTS:

It will not be uncommon to see more of this type of observation where there are no 'in your face' signs of instability. With these types of conditions, it is easy to become complacent and think that the snowpack has become stable. Kobernik
