Just wanted to add to Mark's most excellent observation. After skiing a run with Mark and Marla I was heading back up for more. Being kinda lazy I chose to climb up the North side of the run. About 2/3 of the way felt two collapses and a bit of Deja Vu and went home.

Felt like the sun was just starting to work the snow a bit. Also I can not totally get past the poor snow pack structure. The rain crust is starting to break down and become more fragile.

Total snow pack depth of approx. 100cm on the cabin run. Overall low danger but the snow pack is so vairable it is hard to place a blanket danger rating. That is what the UAFC is for. Good luck.
