Snow Characteristics Comments

Snow pack was basically a mess today, wide spread rime crust getting stouter with elevation, made it to about 9800ft. The combination of a stout rime crust on top of inverted snow, sitting on loose facets made breaking trail a pain in the butt. Noted many new snow slides in the upper Cardiac area, put the ones that stepped down into old snow on the avy list. Wind was transporting a lot of new snow in upper Cardiac in the PM. Photos Wind in Cardiac, Rime crust mid elevation, damp snow at 8000ft.

Noted this debris pile under the Catchers Mit looked to be new snow only.
