Snow Characteristics Comments

We would sink into and through structureless sugary and very weak faceted snow with each turn. The faceted snow made breaking trail out of the bowls arduous to say the least.

Red Flags
Red Flags
Cracking
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Very poor snow structure (no structure). Snowpack is faceted and rotten throughout. Lacking a slab though, as yesterday's storm did not produce enough accumulation to overload the weak facets yet.
Comments

We found shallow, punchy or droppy snow conditions in Garden City Bowls. Looking down the "Gut" gives you an idea how shallow the snow is. You would sink clear through the weak faceted snowpack with each turn. The structureless snow ranged in depth from around 30 to 50 cms or only 1' to 1.5' The sugary snow is difficult breaking trail through and challenging to do turns in as well.
