Comments
I skinned up as far as there was skiable snow -- just below the upper boulders that have not yet filled in -- and started digging this pit. I was surprised to find the pack deeper than the length of my shovel ~ 40". Obviously a lot of wind-blown filled in (probably from the bare rocks above). Surface was super wind affected -- almost like skiing across styrafoam. Shovel sheer test failed somewhat cleanly on 18 at the 1F/4F interface 12" down. Couldn't get an extended column test to fail at all.
