Comments

Walked the ridge line from USA Bowl to the West Desolation ridge line taking a look at the N facing starting zones. As expected the shady protected high N facing consisted of about a foot to 14 inches of loosely faceted snow all the way to the ground. NE was a mixed bag of facets and crusts, and the E facing was mostly crust or dirt. This combination was pretty consistent in South Monitor, West Monitor, Mac Donalds Draw, and Dutches Draw. NW in Bear Trap was still supportable with mainly surface faceting. Photos surface hoar growth at the bottom of the West Desolation ridge line and the bottom of Bear Trap, coverage in West Monitor, Dutches Draw, and the NE face of Reynolds.

More evidence of last weeks wind event.

Near surface facets from north facing South Monitor bowl.
