Walked up to Cardiff Pass and over Cardiff Peak to have a look at the north facing into Cardiff Fork. Was still getting cracking and collapsing on the north facing headwall of Cardiff Fork, but not nearly as sensitive as last week. Did have a look at the facets in the same place I looked at before the last series of storms well over a week ago. A week and a half ago I would have called them medium size, now it appears they have grown larger, but have adjusted to the new weight. Photos, cracking and collapsing that was not bush affiliated 10,500ft due north protected. Larger grain facets under the new snow load.
Wanted to get a look at Cardiac Bowl but the foggy weather shut me down, did get to look at some of the east facing terrain and the west, still pretty thin on those aspects. Photos, of coverage down canyon in Cardiff Fork, Holly Toledo, Georges, and high Ivory, cliffs between Cardiac Ridge and Bowl.
South side is thin and painful to descend, not recommended and i don't even care about my equipment just my body. Photos, Flagstaff, Cardiff south facing.
