Went to Sunset peak today to see how the new snow was bonding to the old faceted snow on the high norths. Not bonding super well, was experiencing collapses and shooting cracks in the steeper terrain with old snow under it, the weak layer was about 1 inch down from the dirt layer that formed before the most recent storm. . Photos, Shallow crowns in the Toilet Bowl off of Pioneer ridge most likely from yesterdays high PI rates, and debris, pit with the dirt layer visible 8 to 10 inches off the ground, shooting cracks on the steeper terrain with old snow. And a video of a small pocket that released but did not propagate.

ECT showed that the weakest layer was about 1 inch down from the dirt layer formed before the most recent storm data from ECT to follow. Pic debris from small pocket.
