Comments

There is enough weak old faceted snow above 9000' on north aspects in Little Cottonwood to potentially cause a weak layer after more new snow is deposited.

See this observation from DAYS FORK for more details on the early season snow cover.

This image if of Boundary Bowl on the west side of Gad Valley at Snowbird. It is a great example of how the snow cover changes with aspect. East aspects are bare, northeast are patchy, north are holding snow.

This is the Cirque at Snowbird. Again, you can see that East aspects have melted out and northerly aspects are holding plenty of snow to act as a weak layer.

Baldy in Collins Gulch at Alta.

Sunset Peak, Catherines Pass, So Long area on the east side of the Alta Ski Resort.
