Today turned out to be a nice spring powder day, stayed cold an windy most of the day. The wind from the NE was a bit annoying on the high ridges, it was also blowing up the face of both Monitor bowls, South Monitor was completely wind jacked, West Monitor faired a bit better but was also looking fairly winded when we left at 4:00pm. NW facing Wills Hill was holding the best snow, not receiving the wind pounding that the NE facing slopes were receiving. Not much instabilities noted in the new snow, seemed well bonded and stable in the areas traveled. There was some cracking in the wind effected snow but nothing wanted to move. Photos, wind jacked South Monitor, wind erosion on the ridge line, wind still blasting in Stairs in the late afternoon.
