Snow Characteristics
Snow Characteristics Comments

Pretty decent refreeze Wed night above 8,000' in the Dry Creek drainage approaching Chipman Peak. From about 8,000' to 9,000' the refreeze was about 2-3 inches, above 9,000' the refreeze was even a few inches better than that, except around thin rocky spots. Marginal to no refreeze below that. SE and E facing slopes at the upper elevations started softening about 1000 am. By 11 am the snowpack was already getting punchy below 8,000' Doesn't matter much at this point as the refreeze will likely be very marginal tonight. Didn't notice any avalanche activity as we were out of there by a little after 11. Would expect more widespread activity tomorrow.
