Snow Characteristics Comments
New snow very sensitive but not propagating. Consistently failing at a point midway through the storm snow - couldn't see an obvious discontinuity. Very low density. About 60-70 cm new mid morning and snowing moderately hard

Comments

Dug a quick hole to the ground - almost 2 m deep. The pre-storm snow was consistently firm, about 2 fingers, to the ground. No loose facets, no crust observed. This was in about the same spot that we couldn't even isolate a column around Christmas.

about 8,200 ft (well below the ridge), N facing, 28 deg.
