Snow Characteristics Comments
It seems most of the Surface hoar has turned into surface or Near Surface Faceting. Riding conditions are fun and fast if you can find a place with no tracks in wind sheltered NW-NE facing slopes. Boot penetration was up to the knee. So if the wind picks up we have alot for transport.
Red Flags
Red Flags
Cracking
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Some cracking anywhere I found some wind crust but not going anywhere without a load on top of it. Of course the poor snowpack structure is still present just waiting for a load to tilt the scale. This past week all of my tests in the 8500'-9000' NW-N slopes were ECTX with mostly 4F facets on the lower end of the snowpack. Overall LOW Danger today.
