Winds picked up on the higher ridges today, out of the North. Moving snow from Bellicosity into Green Canyon (east to west in my location), blowing snow off the trees. Cold in the shade, balmy in the sun.
Snow Characteristics
Snow Characteristics Comments
South aspects had a significant crust, higher elevations had wind crusts. Top and bottom of Bellicosity (NE 9000 ft) wind/sun jacked. Best turns on mid elevation east aspects and protected norths. Fantastic recrystalized powder on those mid elevation slopes. About 55 inches of snow at 8800 feet.
Red Flags
Red Flags Comments
Manageable sloughing on steep N slopes, otherwise stable for now.
