Comments
Thin snowpack in the area. I found a crust sandwich in the area which I have not found in the upper Weber canyon area. Large grain facets at the ground topped by a rain crust topped with 4"-6" of small grain facets topped by another melt/freeze or rain crust. Test columns failed at the ground or just below the lowest rain crust. Basal facets were slightly damp. Travel was from 7100 to 9100 feet. Skied north thru west, angles up to 32 degrees.
