Snow Characteristics Comments
Multiple snowmobiles observed in the area, I was Alpine Touring with a group of three skiers (including myself). The aspect was no steeper than 25degrees, north-northwest facing, with a large amount of trees, with some open areas free of trees. The snowpack seemed to be stable, no 'textbook' tests were done, however we didn't observe any degradation in stability (no cracking, collapsing, recent avalanches, wind loading) during the 3hour hike up, or the 40 min ski down. Ideal conditions for the slope/area, etc. FORECASTER COMMENTS: Excellent, safe choice for travel. Great conditions still found on safe lower angle slopes.
