Comments
Strong SW winds were the main action today, stripping windward slopes to the dirt and creating stiff hard slabs on the lee side slopes. pics wind damage on Cardiac Ridge, snow transport on High Ivory.
Snow pit on Georges Bowl NE facing, 9700ft wind and sun protected 31 degress revealed about the same results as the pit in Dutches. 26 inches total depth with about 3 to4 inches of damp small grain facets at the ground with a layer of grauple on top of the facets, Compression test revealed same as yesterdays pit, almost broke my hand pounding on the column to get a clean shear. slab on top seems fairly stout about 2 finger. pics, snow pit with damp facets at the bottom, could tightly packet wet facets at the base with a sqeeze of the hand.
