Great afternoon to be in the mountains. It was too hot in the direct sun and almost too cold in the shade.

Snow Characteristics Comments
1.5 to 2 feet of nice consolidated powder still remains on the shaded slopes and northern aspects. Trail breaking is getting easier by the day and the snow has that 'foam/bouncy' feeling under foot. Just avoid the rocks and down trees. Nothing to it... Anything receiving sun that had a tilt to it produced roller ball races. Surface hoar on the north seems to still be growing.
Comments
NNE facing Red Pine surface hoar made for some fun 'loud powder' turns.
