Snow Characteristics Comments

Travel was from Butler Fork to Baker Pass and up to 9600' on Gobblers, but post-holing in damp boots is for the birds. Gotta get some Verts like an old friend has.

Early season mixed bag of mud, wet snow, crusts and rounding facets with snow depths of 20cm on the north side of Baker Pass and up to 30cm at 9600'.

Comments

Profile shows classic mix of early season damp snow, facets and crusts. Notable is what I believe to be the Hurricane Rachel (impacted Utah ~Oct 9-14th) 1" thick very hard crust that sits an inch above the ground. I found this at 9400' but not 9000'....Could be a good connector and bed surface to watch -
