Snow Characteristics Comments

The light winds kept the snow surface generally supportable on most aspects except true south until noon. After noon, the easterly and westerly snow surfaces became damp and less supportive, and even the north was damp by mid-afternoon. Still nice to get out on skis.

Comments

Honestly, my key takeaway from the day was overall coverage. After only a few days away from Upper Little Cottonwood, the southerly and westerly aspects were almost completely dirt. With the incoming weather, any new snow will be falling on dirt in many places, and on a variety of crusts and melt-freeze surfaces where there is old snow.
