Air temperature was around 40ยบ at dawn. Shaded aspects remained pretty firm though the morning while air temps skyrocketed. Hot and breezy by noon.

Snow conditions were like spreading hot butter on dry toast: creamy on top with some serious crispy underlayers. We weren't expecting much and it met our expectations. The good corn turns we found were in the midst of firm, glassy snow and drop-to-the-rocks postholes. Abundant recent wetslides and pinwheels, though we were outta there before anything started moving today.

If you can get to the snowline, there are likely some good turns above you. Amid spring melt, damp snow, and pussywillows, however, you gotta want it. Never summer!
