Snow Characteristics Comments

Nice right side powder, sitting on a supportable base. Minor windslabs, more like wind pillows just off the ridges. Pretty good rime event on all the trees above 9500', Snow surface not as affected.

Saw one old large natural D2 avalanche in Depth hoar bowl, looked to be just off the ridge top, and ran to the first bench. Crown was mostly filled back in, but seemed to be a couple feet deep. It had about 10" of new snow sitting on top of the previous bed surface.
Comments

Finally able to get back into MCC, after spending the last few weeks in the upper cottonwoods. Nice cold start with gradual warming through out the day. Plenty of powder to go around, and not to many people in this location. Travel was mostly easy, with a few moments of walking through bushes. On the approach snow felt stable, and no new red flags. Decided on riding Cabin Run in very good conditions. I did however make a mistake on trying to exit out through Pole Canyon, it was almost impassable in a few locations. But after this year , and a lot of bushwacking, it doesn't seem out of the norm....
