Comments
Noted one ridgeline collapse and natural shooting cracks (photo) today just beckoning a 35 degree, east-facing slope to fail.
We continued to find touchy terrain whenever it was nice, deep, soft snow. You can see the difference on the snow surface and expect that terrain to slide when steeper than 40/45 degrees.
While skinning, we noted some lack of cohesion between the new snow and the suncrust. Isolated column test on east facing slope above 10,000’ revealed 5” of new snow sheering on CT9, but no signs of propagation were observed in the field for this type of snow.
