Comments
Toured up Gaurdsmans to Scott's Backdoor and then moved off to the NW side off Tri- County Peak/Gaurdsmans Peak.
We noted the following stability features and snow surface as we went along:
1. Isolated cracking around our new skin track, but nothing propagating.
2. A graupel layer (on the small side for graupel) at the top of the snow surface.
3. A few turns resulted in sluffs outrunning us at the upper portion of Scott's Backdoor, but nothing that untrained much new snow.
4. Some wind loading and slabbing noticed on the ridges. We tracked over some convexes where wind loading was and got no reactivity as we approached or moving over them.
Overall, skiing was nice and we did not encounter too many sharks. Could definitely feel the thin spots and crusts underneath.
