Weather Comments
Another clear and beautiful day in the La Sals. SW winds in our local. Pre Laurel was more out of the North. Temps were mid to upper 30's. No wind loading although at times the light winds transported surface snow in a rolling and saltation modes.

Snow Characteristics Comments
Seek and ye shall find. Faceted loose snow is still soft and fun to turn in. We should all recycle a little more. Even the snow.
Red Flags
Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Mostly the structure is all weak. In isolated areas you still might be able to find a stubborn slab over weak snow. All bets are off when/if this pattern change arrives around the 10th/11th.
Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
I think this problem is very isolated, and quite stubborn, and difficult to trigger. All bets are off when it snows and blows again. Lots and lots of weak snow out there on the polars.

Comments
Photo: 1 Still the best skiing to be found is just below the treeline facing NW-N-E in areas not too affected by the winds. This area had a slight 1cm wind crust, but 18cm of soft recycled powder underneath.
Photo: 2 More of the same.
