Something for everyone. Nice slow recrystallized snow skiing. Quasi-corn on solars; "isothermal garbage" (Mark Saurer's quote) on mid-elevation east facing.

I don't speak French, but avalanching on the polar aspects will be something like a Fait accompli , a foregone conclusion, once it snows and blows.

BUT it's the off aspects that interest me now. West (see above) has poor structure (see profile on west facing from today below ...and along West Deso ridge (2nd pic) on January 20th.). There are times during lean years when the solar and off aspects have such a poor and weak structure that they, too, will avalanche with enough load. (Years ago, I heard the phrase - in certain circumstances - Beware the West.)
