took a quick ride up snake creek to Ant Knolls to see what i could see and confirmed… nothing to see here most common ride areas are beat by heavy traffic or the wind. none of the terrain was untouched and people got after it everywhere as expected. Though i did not dig a pit i observed 65-90 cm in the area with mf crusts, wind crusts, facets loose surfaces and even some hidden pow in steeper trees. With some sled track digging found deep facets in the previous slab on top 30cm of snowpack. approach from trail head is definitely patches to dirt and gravel over the 1.5 miles and will continue to be a challenge. not recommended. I decided, i will not be going up here until we see a decent storm, so its going to be a while. Just wanted to capture some intel on this area before i go MIA for a bit.
