Weather Comments
A pattern change could be felt midday, with a sudden drop in temps and an increase in wind and sky cover. Though it was a heated rivalry between the high pressure and slight pattern change, the defending champion reigns.

Comments

At the lower end of the recreation conducive snowpack on the 35 corridor, around 9000', anywhere from 30-90cm of HS can be found. Interestingly, and depressingly enough, this is the same HS from the same area observed on 1/4. An optimist calls it settlement, a pessimist - loss. A profile dug on N at 9500' shows the setup: two crusts dividing up three layers of facets. The strongest faceted layers can be found in the mid pack and the basal, with deteriorating percolation columns helping to strengthen things. Up top, 1-2mm near surface facets make up today's poor man's powder. ECTX. A bonus photo of cavity hoar is attached. Pretty.
