Weather and Snow
Nowcast- Thinning clouds drift to the east in the wake of Wednesday nights system which clobbered the North Slope, delivering 8" of moisture rich snow with right around 1.2" H2O. In other words, dense, heavy, base-building glop! Further south from Mirror Lake through Wolf Creek and Strawberry, storm totals are closer to 4" of thick, white paint. At o'dark thirty, temperatures register in the mid 20's and winds are light and northerly.
Forecast: A brush-by Friday tonight delivers cooler air, but high pressure quickly builds and that means a warm, dry, and spectacular weekend.
Futurecast: Another weak system clips northern Utah late Sunday. Generally uneventful weather is on tap for the upcoming week.
Andy delivers a low-tech, four digit, blue collar conditions report from his deck in Samak... looks like 3" of snow near the trailheads.
Recent Avalanches
Roof-a-lanches! Something to keep an eye on and avoid being underneath as we visit our cabins and get our stoves fired up.
