We are putting on a Backcountry 101 avalanche class for motorized users next week, February 17 & 18. We will do online presentations on Friday evening and a full day out in the mountains on Saturday.
Current Conditions: Riding conditions are hit or miss with wind blasted snow and lots of sheltered areas with very carvable powder. Temperatures got into the mid 30s on Friday and were all over the place overnight with readings anywhere between 6˚F to 33˚F. There's been a slight bump in wind speed from the south but overall it remains pretty light.
Mountain Weather: It looks like we'll see cloud cover this morning. The sun may filter through a bit as the day goes on. High temperatures should get into the upper 20s to low 30s. Wind from the south will be light and probably slowing in speed. We have a couple more days of nice sunny mild weather then a storm shaping up for Tuesday into Wednesday. Hard to say how much new snow we'll get just yet but it looks like a decent refresher.
