Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: Under cloudy skies, it's the warmest morning yet with overnight lows hovering in the low to mid 30s. Wind speeds have been light from the southwest. The snow surface is a mix of crusts and loose dry snow.
Mountain Weather: Today, expect cloudy skies with high temperatures in the mid 30s and light to moderate west wind. A minor weather disturbance moves through tonight and Wednesday and we might see a snowflake or two fall out of the sky. Overall, the dominant feature is a giant ridge of high pressure that looks to persist through the new year. There is one small storm that weather models show busting through the ridge and producing snow this weekend. The big picture looks bleak though.

Description
Snow from November and early December has sat around for a couple of weeks now. This is never a good thing especially when the snowpack is shallow like it is now. It is weakening and turning into loose sugary grains. Amazingly, it is still somewhat supportable for skis and even snowmobiles in some areas. While the snow is weakening, it is mostly stable right now and chances for triggering an avalanche are low.
