Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

I've bumped up the avalanche danger to CONSIDERABLE along the high elevation northwest through east facing slopes for today. Strong wind combined with some new snow may have deposited enough new snow onto slopes that already have weak old sugar snow near the ground. Continue to avoid these slopes for the time being. Also watch for cracking within any fresh wind drifted snow especially in the mid and higher elevations. This is a sign that these drifts are sensitive and may release on steep slopes.

Weather and Snow
A sharp cold front moved through on Wednesday that brought about 4" of new snow to the Skyline. You wouldn't know it though due to how windy it was. The wind really blew snow around stripping it from some spots and depositing deeper drifts in others.
