Early in the week I saw a big slide on the north side of Gobbler's Nob that I hadn't heard about, and on Wednesday we did a quick afternoon jaunt to check it out. Impressive.
Guessing that it likely ran on the 16th/17th Big Event, and went to the ground. Importantly, it appears that it was adjacent to the Jan 30 avalanche accident that had two catch/carries, which also went to the ground. The new one was to the west, or closer to the shoulder/typical skin line. Therefore, a good chunk of what I would consider to be "main" Gobbies has run, thus reloading is now occurring on the ground-based bed surface. It ran from near the ridge all the way down to the bottom gully, and raked hard through/over the "safe" ridge that lately has been the awkward/steep skin line, taking out plenty of mature timber off that ridge.
Overall quite impressive.
