Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Skyline Area Mountains Issued by Brett Kobernik for Wednesday - December 28, 2016 - 6:51am
bottom line

The majority of the terrain in the mountains has a LOW avalanche danger. There is a MODERATE danger along the higher more east facing terrain where wind has and will drift snow into slabs that may be sensitive to a person. Continue to use caution along the higher terrain. Out of the windy terrain, it is unlikely that anyone will trigger an avalanche.

current conditions

You'll find an abundance of powder out there still today. The only issue is that the light powder is very susceptible to being blown around by the wind. The southwest wind on Tuesday drifted more snow along the ridges than I anticipated. Overall, our snowpack is generally stable. You just need to keep in mind that you may find a wind drifted pocket that could release on you along the higher more east facing slopes.
