bottom line

With the lack of a solid overnight re-freeze, the danger for loose, wet avalanches is MODERATE today. Get in early and get out early if you are in the mountains today. Look for signs of instability such as roller balls, pinwheels, or sloppy wet snow, and stay off of and out from under steep slopes when these signs are present.

current conditions

It's very warm this morning with Camp Jackson reporting 39 degrees and 36 on Abajo Peak. Any re-freeze that occurred last night will be superficial, and the snow will quickly become wet and sloppy under today's forecasted record breaking temperatures.

High pressure continues with near record breaking high temperatures through the rest of the week. Models are indicating a change in the pattern next week.
