Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Abajo Area Mountains Issued by Eric Trenbeath for Tuesday - February 14, 2017 - 6:53am
bottom line

Most terrain in the Abajo/Blue Mountains has LOW danger. Your primary concern will be the threat of loose, wet avalanches on sun exposed slopes and at low elevations with warming temperatures. Avoid steep slopes with sloppy, wet, or punchy snow on them.

special announcement

The Abajo/Blue Mountain avalanche advisory will provide detailed information on the weekends. During the week, general information and a danger rating will be posted.

current conditions

Warm temperatures have saturated the snow at mid and lower elevations, and some wind and sun exposed slopes are showing rocks and grass, but overall the snowpack is looking good at around 150% of normal.

Corey Rob was out and about and sent in this observation from the old Blue Mountain Ski Area.
