Red Flags Comments
Most areas have little snow. Perhaps 6-16 inches on sheltered north slopes. Very cautious skiing. Walked back down Lightening Ridge. Pit at 9,000 ft, HS 50 cm, NE 32 degrees, slope angle mid 20's. Easy shovel shear 20 cm above ground at facet/new snow interface. Not many areas have enough snow to ski. Those that do have approximately 20cm of facets on the ground. Near the bottom of Sundown lift there is a stout crust 2-3 inches thick covered by new snow with minimal facets on the ground. Doubt the next storm will deposit enough of a load to increase the avalanche danger except in those areas that currently hold the most snow.
