Problem #1 Comments
There was no real problem at the moment but the current structure in the area is ripe for avalanches when more snow accumulates and a slab develops. There were no signs of recent wind-drifted snow. The snow near the surface is showing early signs of faceting and may become another layer to watch. I found a thin layer of buried surface hoar roughly 12 inches below the surface with propagating results during an Extended-Column Test (ECTP11) however I did not observe the surface hoar in other pits.
