There's an old joke where after many years of contemplation, the German philosopher Nietzsche proclaimed that God is dead. Not long after, God proclaimed thet Nietzsche was dead.
I tell this story because my intention {and hope (wishcast) through fieldwork, observations, and communication} is to put the November PWL of facets to bed. The key is to not let the PWL put me to bed first (!).
We profiled the snow at both 7000' and 8060' on northerly aspects. The facets there are 4F+, damp, and rounding and buried 110 and 150cm, respectively. ECTX on both, though a PST 40/100 on the first. See video below. A conservative call would be to relay that thinner areas (less than 4') would have an isolated Moderate danger for triggering an avalanche into these older layers. In these mid/low elevations; however, the snow is dense, rife with rain crusts, and warm. I do believe we will likely remove PWL from the problems soon.
